Spark Profiler

Use Spark to diagnose and resolve performance issues on your Cafora server.

Spark is the industry-standard performance profiler for Minecraft servers. It helps you identify exactly what is causing lag.

Installing Spark

Go to the Pterodactyl Panel and select your server.
Navigate to the Plugins or Mods section.
Install Spark (available for Paper, Purpur, Fabric, and Forge).
Restart your server.

Key Commands

Check TPS

/spark tps

Run a Performance Profile

/spark profiler

Run Timed Profile

/spark profiler --timeout 300

Runs for 5 minutes, useful for capturing intermittent lag.

Memory Report

/spark healthreport --memory

View Report

After running a profile, Spark provides a link to view results in your browser.

Reading a Spark Report

Spark reports show:

  • Call tree: which methods consume the most tick time
  • Plugins: how much time each plugin uses
  • Entities: which entity types are expensive
  • Memory: heap usage and allocation rates

Common Findings

  • A plugin taking 40%+ of tick time: investigate or replace
  • High entity tick time: reduce mob caps or entity counts
  • Excessive chunk loading: pre-generate world, lower view distance
