Paper

Install and configure Paper — the recommended Minecraft server software on Cafora Host.

Paper is a high-performance fork of Spigot that includes optimizations, bug fixes, and additional configuration options. It is the recommended server software for most Cafora users.

Why Paper?

  • Better performance — Significantly improved TPS compared to Vanilla
  • Plugin compatibility — Supports Bukkit, Spigot, and Paper plugins
  • Built-in optimizations — Chunk loading, entity handling, redstone improvements
  • Configuration options — Deep control over server behavior via paper.yml

Installing Paper

Open Server Panel

Log in to the Pterodactyl Panel and select your server.

In the server panel, go to Settings → Software.

Select Paper

Choose Paper from the list of available server software.

Choose Version

Select your desired Minecraft version. Cafora keeps Paper builds up to date.

Install

Click Install to download and set up Paper. This will replace your current server jar.

Start Server

Start your server. Paper will generate its configuration files on first launch.

Configuration

After installation, you can tune Paper through:

  • paper.yml — Paper-specific optimizations
  • spigot.yml — Spigot-specific settings
  • bukkit.yml — Bukkit compatibility options

Changing Paper configuration settings can affect server behavior. Test changes before applying them to a production server.
