Ports
Understanding and configuring ports for your Cafora Minecraft server, including the DDoS-protected port range.
Ports are the network endpoints your Minecraft server uses to accept connections.
Default Minecraft Ports
| Edition | Default Port |
|---|---|
| Java Edition | 25565 |
| Bedrock Edition | 19132 |
Protected Port Range
Cafora opens and protects the 25565–25577 (TCP) range for Minecraft. You can assign ports within that range to different Pterodactyl servers:
25565
25566
25567
...
25577All of these ports enter through the TCPShield Sentry entry point, where DDoS scrubbing happens before traffic reaches the backend. The ports are not exposed directly on the origin IP — connecting to the corresponding port on the origin IP is dropped.
See DDoS Protection for the entry architecture and origin IP protection.
Additional Ports
You may need additional ports for server plugins and tools:
| Service | Typical Port |
|---|---|
| Dynmap | 8123 |
| Voice Chat (SimpleVC) | 24454 |
| MySQL | 3306 |
| RCON | 25575 |
SFTP Port
File transfers use a separate entry point:
| Purpose | Address | Port |
|---|---|---|
| SFTP | sftp.caforahost.com | 2022 |
SFTP also enters through TCPShield Sentry, over the same VXLAN link as Minecraft.
Port Configuration
Additional ports can be allocated through the Pterodactyl Panel. Navigate to your server's Network settings.
Additional port availability depends on your server plan.
