Server Management
Startup Parameters
Configure JVM flags, memory allocation, and startup arguments for your Minecraft server.
Startup parameters control how the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) runs your Minecraft server. Proper configuration is essential for performance.
Accessing Startup Settings
- Open the Pterodactyl Panel
- Select your server
- Go to Settings → Startup
Memory Allocation
Memory is configured with the -Xms (initial) and -Xmx (maximum) flags:
java -Xms2G -Xmx4G -jar server.jar nogui| Flag | Meaning |
|---|---|
-Xms | Initial heap size |
-Xmx | Maximum heap size |
Setting -Xms and -Xmx to the same value can reduce garbage collection overhead.
